Asked by @Michelle-TalkTalk to create my own post.

My install is due next week and I was wondering when my new router would be delivered this is answered by another thread with says up to 24 hours before or even by the engineer.
My other question was do I need a new router as I am happy with the one I have is fairly new and has a WAN socket.

Hi @John__a

That's great news, thanks for letting us know 🙂

We advise to allow up to 72hrs for My Account to update.

Thanks again.

Well that went well! The install was a breeze by 2 very friendly engineers from Kelly Communications working on behalf of Openreach.
I used the EERO that was sent and plugged the output into my TP link switch, I plugged the Grandstream digital voice unit into this and once I had pressed the reset button with a paperclip it started working. Initially it didn't have the phone light on.

Just checked my account and it still says I am on fibre65, my old contract, wonder when this will update?

Talktalk sometimes gets a bad press but I am a happy customer 🙂

Sadly my current router doesn't have a phone socket @Gliwmaeden2 I also realise now that it is only a 100mb device so too slow I guess for the new fibre service.
I'll post back after the install to say how I got on.

Thank you, yes I hoped this would work, I'll post back after the install.

Yes, you can use an ethernet switch, this is a common solution by those who need more than the two ports provided by the eero. So connect one eero port to the ONT and then connect the DVA via the switch and you should be good to go, with spare ports in hand.

Or simply use the Sagemcom router if it has the phone socket, @John__a?

Not essential to use the Eero.

My EERO and the Digital voice adaptor arrived today. The instructions say plug the EERO into the Fibre box (ONT) and the Digital voice into the EERO since there are only 2 sockets on the EERO how do I plug my wired network into the router? I have an ethernet switch, can I plug this into the EERO and the Digital voice adaptor into that along with the rest of my network. Probably have to wait until install day to find out...

Hello,

Just to add, if your FTTP set up is done by CityFibre then we may have to adjust the profile for the Wifi Hub to connect.

Hi John,

Thank you. If you currently have the Wifi Hub router then this should work fine on FTTP.
