Hi,
Can you give me some advice.
I am not sure that I have posted this in the correct place.
At the moment I have a land line and a City Fibre connection I have a TalkTalk Wi-Fi Hub 2
version SG4K100174 and if I log in to the router under "my phone" it says voice not enabled.
I am aware that land lines are shortly to be discontinued is it possible to use my WiFi to send and receive calls and deactivate my landline.
Would this be complicated and could I stay on the same package have at the same price with my landline number being used on the WiFi.
Thanks for any help or advice you can give me
KInd regards

@jstype, Wi-fi calling isn't the same thing as VOIP.
It's what your mobile uses when the phone signal is poor, using any available wi-fi.
It's not a substitute for the landline in the way that VOIP is.

The copper line will continue on, and im sure by the time it is decommissioned (around 2025, I think) the ability to add VoIP will be possible.

That's a shame. Thanks for your help.

Hi jstype
Unfortunately Its not possible to add a VoIP service to an existing service on a City Fibre connection, for this to happen the service will need to be completely disconnected and then re-ordered which would mean a loss of service during the change.

No I did not, I wanted to keep my landline at that time.
I now think it might be better to move to WiFi calling. I am not sure what it would entail though in cost purchasing a VOIP phone etc.
I suppose if I left it till we are forced to change over all the costs would be paid for me.
Thanks for your help any advice that you can give me would be appreciated.

Hi,
Did you originally sign up for a VOIP package?
Thanks
