Thank you so much for your feedback, we are glad that the issue has been resolved.
While I still have you on the platform, would there be anything else you would like for me to further assist you with apart from what have been discussed?

Hi Guys. siphosethu-TT & @nameunknown
I tried changing to the Google DNS server earlier this week which made no difference to the error code on boot up.
But!! The problem has now been resolved, and you may well find you will want to keep the cause in mind for future reference, well what was it I hear you saying - a dead internal battery, new one fitter and it now works perfectly.
Thanks for your help......

Okay, let's see if using the Google DNS servers instead of the TalkTalk DNS servers makes any difference. I am using the Google DNS servers, and I have never had any issues.
Click on Start in the taskbar to open the Windows menu, start typing the word Settings, then click on 'Settings system' at the top of the list.
In the Settings window, click on 'Network & internet' on the left side of the window.
The next step depends on whether you are using ethernet (a cable connection to the router) or wifi.
If you are using ethernet, then click on the arrow to the right of Ethernet.
If you are using wifi, then click on the arrow to the right of wifi, then click on the arrow to the right of 'Hardware properties'.
If you sometimes connect your computer to the router via ethernet, and sometimes via wifi, then you would need to repeat the remaining steps for both ethernet and wifi. In that case, I suggest you make the changes for one of them, and see if it makes any difference, before making the changes to the other.
Next, click on the Edit button to the right of 'DNS server assignment'. In the 'Edit DNS settings' window, click on the down arrow, and select 'Manual', then click the button under IPv4 to change the setting to On.
Enter 8.8.8.8 in the box under 'Preferred DNS', and enter 8.8.4.4 in the box under 'Alternative DNS', then click on the Save button.
Edit DNS settings
If at any time you need to undo the changes, then follow the steps above to open the 'Edit DNS settings' window, click on the button under IPv4 to change the setting to Off, and click on the Save button.
Hopefully, you find that you no longer see 'this site can't be reached'. If you do, then we would need to look at other possible causes, such as the firewall.
Changing the DNS settings in your computer only changes the DNS servers used when accessing the internet via your computer. If changing the DNS settings on your computer allows you to access the sites you were previously unable to access, then it would be best that the DNS settings are changed in your router settings, so that you can also access the sites using your iPhone when connected to the router via wifi.
Let us know how you get on.

Are you still getting 'this site cannot be reached'? Yes I am.
Did you also clear the browser cache, and do the DNS flush? Yes they were both cleared
I have Windows 11 Home edition and if you can make it as easy to follow as your previous instructions
then I'm happy to give it a go.
Oh, I've checked my DNS on my iPhone and it is the 79.79.79.79 and 79.79.79.80 if that
makes any difference at all.........

As I suspected you are using the TalkTalk DNS servers, which can show as the gateway IP address, i.e. an address like 192.168.4.1 (as in your case), or as 79.79.79.79 and 79.79.79.80, depending on how DNS has been set in the router settings.
Changing the DNS servers to servers other than TalkTalk's can sometimes resolve 'this site cannot be reached'. The DNS servers can be changed in the router settings or by changing the network settings on your computer. Any other devices connected to the router would still use the DNS server settings in the router.
Changing the DNS settings in your router would best be done by someone who is familiar with doing that and has access to your router, rather than by me providing you with instructions remotely. However, if you have Windows 11, then I would be happy to talk you through making the changes to the network settings on your computer, because it is straightforward to do on Windows 11.
If you do not know what version of Windows you have, then you can check by opening the Windows menu, typing the word winver, and clicking on where it shows 'winver Run command'.

Hi again @nameunknown_
I've managed that. The default DNS is shown as: 192.168.4.1
It does however show another DNS: 192.168.4.24 as I.Pv4 Prefered.

Okay, what else have you already tried?
What about clearing the browser cache?
To clear the browser cache, open the browser window with just a new tab open, i.e. no web pages open, press the Ctrl+Shift+Delete keys together to open the window for clearing data. Select the longest time range, e.g. 'All time' or 'Everything', and tick 'Cached images and files' or 'cached files and pages'. Remove ticks on other options (by clicking on the tick) or leave them, if you are happy to clear those options as well. When you have finished selecting, click on the 'Delete data' button.
Have you tried flushing the DNS cache?
To do this, you need to open an administrator Command Prompt window. Click on Start in the taskbar to open the Windows menu, then start typing the word Command. You should see Command Prompt at the top of the list. Right click on it, and then click on 'Run as administrator'.
In the Command prompt window, type
ipconfig /flushdns
Whilst in the Command Prompt window, you could also type
ipconfig /all
and report back to the Community what the DNS servers setting is. I suspect it is set to the TalkTalk DNS servers
79.79.79.79
79.79.79.80
on 06-09-2025 03:24 PM
I've done that in total three times now....
on 06-09-2025 01:19 PM
There are various things you can try.
Starting with one of the simplest, if you have not already restarted your router, then you could do that.

Oh, did'nt realise that, thanks @nameunknown_ .
It's pretty much all sites that have a clickable link or a clickable button on them, below is the one
previously mentioned.
pottersleisure2.acemlnb.com’s DNS address could not be found. Diagnosing the problem.

The Community staff don't generally work at the weekend.
What site are you attempting to access when you see 'This site cannot be reached'?
