speed degradation over the last 4 days

Message 20 of 20

Hi there everyone

noticed a few disconections on my service over the last few days and have also noticed a massive slow down in my service which seems to fluctuates aggressively.

checked the eero app that says its at full speed but everything else showing less than 100 meg down usually around the 90 meg down mark. Upload speed is consistant at around 28/30 meg up?

ive rebooted the eeros from the app and still shows no sign of improvement ?

currently on the full fibre 150 plan

thoughts?

Hi michelle

thanks for the ongoing support and thought i would check in to say the conection at present seems to be behaving as its should, although does tend to slow by about 25 meg during busy network times. i.e early evenings. so fingers crossed long may it continue.

Ok thanks. Are there any electrical devices located close to the second eero? How often are your speeds varying? Does it seem to happen more often at a certain time of the day or completely random?

Hi,

Thanks for confirming. Have you also had a look at the below Help Guide?

Slow speeds on your eero network - TalkTalk Help & Support

So just to confirm, you see speeds between 120-130mbps on the second eero?

yes my sons done all that powering down of both eeros leaving them off a while then back on again.

the second eero is 12 feet and a false wall from the eero 6 hooked up to the internet.

curent speed usually flucuates between 120 and 130 unless im conected to the main router then usually 150 down

Good morning,

Thanks for the update. In regards to the second eero having lower speeds, how far away is the eero from the main eero please? Have you tried powering down the second eero and then retested the speeds again please?

Thanks

Michelle

Hi michelle

im still watching the speed and at present seems to be stable, but have noticed that when im attached to the main eero the speed is full when im attached to the bedroom eero it has a drop so there must be a bottleneck between the main eero and the second eero upstairs.. If things get worse i will give you guys a nudge and go from there .

The eero app is showing 150 down 29 up on the iphone same with the ipad which are both conected to the bedroom eero chris. I need to ask my son to check the dongle on the laptop is working ok because seems to be the laptop giving strange readings at the moment.

i will give it today to settle back down chris and will recheck it again in the morning

Hi mockingbirdmedia,

Speed tests run from the eero look OK, nearly everyone has been around 150Mbps down with just one at 110Mbps. Not picking up any issues with connectivity between eero's. Are you seeing the slow speeds on more than one device?

Hi michelle

powered down the ONT as requested but also powered down the eeros as the one in the bedroom seems to be acting strange at the moment i.e disconecting? Also noticed that the eeros have chosen a low band to work on instead of the higher bands they normally work on so at present they are on channel 52 instead of 149/155 also my link speed between the eeros have dropped too from 860 meg to 556 not sure if the system is still settling down after this morning reboot.

i will give it another 24 hours to settle down and see what if anything improves

will say though im getting the signal from the bedroom eero and for the last few days its felt very warm even though ive only 3 devices conected?

The link speed between the  eeros seems to be fluctuating really badly still getting less than  meg to the laptop but when i attach the iphone to the main router via client steering it seems to run at full speed? wondering is theres an issue with the second eero?

thoughts?

Morning,

I'm sorry to hear this. Could you try powering down the ONT and the eero for a full 30 minutes and then run another speed test please so we can see how this compares?

Thanks

Michelle
