Hi,

My internet is working fine but my phone line does not have a dial tone, so I can't call out and when I try to call from my mobile it is permanently engaged.

I have logged a fault with support - but it says they cannot find a fault and I have been disconnected from the chat window.

Please help!

Also, could you kindly confirm if you have any active monitoring for life threatening health reasons which is solely dependant upon your TalkTalk Broadband or Telephone line? For example a care alarm, lifeline, health pendant or fall detector.

Thanks

@padunn, thank you for informing us as we will continue on our end. Just to double check, besides the dial tone, are you able to make and receive calls from your landline?

Sorry I have been away the last couple of days. I'm back home now and the phone is still engaged and no dial tone. Let me know what I can do to help.

Hi there @padunn, these are just checks we have to go through. It's not that the handset is faulty, this is just part of diagnostics okay.

Yes, the phone is connected properly. I think you are missing the original issue - the phone is permanently engaged - try calling my number. If the handset was faulty you would hear a ringing tone on the inbound call but the phone wouldn't ring.

It is still not working.

Have you correctly connected the telephone cable to the telephone wall socket?

You will hear a click when inserting the telephone cable into the socket. Thanks

Yes that’s correct. It is a BT cordless phone and the phone looks normal.

Ok so it's not showing no signal or searching, just the writing handset 1. This is just to confirm before I move forward. Thanks

Can you take a look at the phones display, is it showing 'searching' or 'no signal'? Thanks

Powered via a separate plug. Power to base unit is ok.
