Setting Up VOIP

Since going on Fibre 500 I've been using VOIP by connecting my analogue phones to the internet via Talktalk's adapter. I now have a Gigaset A300IP base plus Gigaset S700 handset which are both VOIP enabled. However, I can't get registered with Talktalk's service. I've logged into the Gigaset base but the settings Talktalk have given me (from the Online Chat) don't correspond with the info required by the Base for configuration. Has anyone any experience of this?

Hi @nambuso-TT

Only to contact the phone makers directly, as I suggested earlier. It is not in any sense that I can see a TalkTalk issue.

Since I last posted the system using my old base does not provide all the features listed on the handset. I still don't understand how I can plug in the old base with no configuration and VOIP works, but the n300ip base has to be configured.

I've connected my old Gigaset base to the adapter as before but using the new Gigaset handsets (S700) and it works. So I'll have to leave it like that.

Me neither. Have you tried reaching out to Gigaset directly? I have looked for that model on their website, but can't find it.

Three lights showing on the adapter. My analogue phone system is a Gigaset and when the Fibre 500 was installed the Gigaset base was simply plugged into the adapter and the adapter was connected to the Eero. I can't understand why I can't simply plug in the new A300IP base in the same way without having to configure it with a variety of settings.

Hmm, not sure what you mean by VoIP "enabled," any handset should just plug and go. What are the lights on the Grandstream showing?

I did think that having a VOIP enabled base meant I didn't have to use the adapter.  However I've connected the phone from Base to adapter and ethernet from adapter to Eero, but the handset shows "No LAN".

Have you connected the new base unit to your existing VoIP adapter?
