Adult websites are suddenly blocked

I use gambling websites regularly. Everything was working fine for years, but suddenly today I cannot open any gambling website on any device or browser on my network.

Gala Bingo, Betfred, Bet365, Betfair, etc. none of these website work all of a sudden. All give the following error:

This site can’t provide a secure connection

www.galabingo.com sent an invalid response.

  • Try running Windows Network Diagnostics.
ERR_SSL_PROTOCOL_ERROR

I've tried troubleshooting by resetting my Eero router, restarting the Fibre box, turning Homesafe filters on/off (which I've never used before so they shouldn't be on in the first place). Nothing has worked.

This seems like a major problem on TalkTalk's end as other people seem to be having issues with website being blocked/unblocked today as well?

I’m having exactly the same problem. I have accessed the same betting sites for years with Talk Talk broadband and suddenly nothing works. I haven’t changed anything.

I can access the sites using mobile data and have connected my PC to my personal hotspot and all the browsers on my laptop happily access the sites. As soon as I switch to wifi I get “This site can’t provide a secure connection. ERR_SSL_PROTOCOL_ERROR”

I’ve got Kidsafe, Scam protection, Homework time and Virus alerts all set to OFF.

I spoke to a TALK TALK tech support guy and he told me that a lot of betting sites have blocked all Talk Talk customers due to fraud! I’m fairly sure this is nonsense.

Please help!

Just a thought, do you have advanced security set to on under Network Controls?

If so does turning this off make any difference? If so you could turn it back on and maybe add the sites you wish to the Allow Sites list.

I don't know if this will help but may be something to try.
