I have just renewed my Talktalk contract and been sent an Eero 6 router. I have tried to set this up but it will not connect to my tv box dn372t. Do I need a different tv box?

Hi

TalkTalk no longer provide powerline adapters. These were legacy devices issues with the older TV Boxes and are no longer used as the TV HUB that is provided can connect over Wi-Fi.

Thanks

Karl.

Was this an upgrade to Full Fibre, rather than a straightforward renewal?

If so, @pne168, was it a City Fibre installation, or with Openreach, doing the work?

I understand that City Fibre installations don't work with Talktalk TV, so helpful if you can clarify the package change.

Have a look on the side or bottom of the power line for a pin hole.

Plug it into the mains and insert a pin. Hopefully this will reset the plug.

If not staff will be back tomorrow to give further help.

Thanks for the information but one of the power line adaptors seems dead. Can I get a replacement?

The TV box does need a physical connection to the Eero either direct or via power line plugs, whichever your old router used.

The Eero as you've seen only has 2 ethernet points, so if you don't have a spare you can buy an expansion ethernet switching box to give you extra ports.

If your existing box is working and recording is important to you, keep it as the new boxes do not record.

Double check your connection to the router and try again.

Hope this helps.
