I have been emailing Talktalk for the past few months and am not even getting an acknowledgement. If I do not get a sensible reply and help from Talktalk I will be changing my ISP.

Where have you been sending these emails? TalkTalk do not have that as a first line of access. Best to contact customer services directly, if you are an existing customer looking to upgrade ask for the customer loyalty team, details here:
