<span;>I'm unable to view any bbc channel normally through my aerial. When selecting these channels the 4k box selects iplayer. All other channels work normally. I've carried out a full Netgem 4k box reboot/restart and also rescanned the channels, all to no avail.
<span;>Any ideas ??</span;></span;>

Another customer is now reporting a similar issue here

https://community.talktalk.co.uk/t5/TV/BBC-iplayer-starting-when-pressing-channel-1-or-2/td-p/308678...

Sounds like it is a box software issue.

Hi @Boabby72 sounds like the culprit is identified, all we need now is for the Talktalk team to come back in on Monday and see what they can do at their end.

I don't work here and all my opinions are my own.

Thanks for responding, that makes more sense now.

It seems to me that this is down to TalkTalk/Netgem to sort out or roll back the Software update.

Any input from TalkTalk please much appreciated

Hi there

Both myself and my daughter have talk talk tv boxes, and both of us have the same issue that you have mentioned.

Freeview through any other tv not on a box is fine.

Seems to have been since last software update on 12th Dec.

Not an aerial issue.

It annoys me, as I have to wait for iPlayer to load, to watch "live" tv.

Unsure how to sort it.

Hi

Thanks for your feedback and response. I've never encountered this problem before, I think it may also have started since a recent Software update. All my other tv's without tv boxes are fine.

Think I'll try the full reboot/rescan again

Hi,

Not one I've come across before.

Just to clarify are you getting the wrong region on channel 1? Channel101, although now regional is not as regional as channel 1 as it covers a larger area.

If so then do you have any BBC 1 channels in the upper channel numbers, maybe 800 range?

Is this working ok and your normal region?

If so then your aerial may be out of alignment and picking up the wrong region as a stronger signal?

I've only briefly used a 4k box, but does it allow you to swap channels? If so maybe try this.

Normally a reset will cure such issues but if your aerial has changed position, then you may need to consult a local aerial installer.

Try the reset again by pressing the left hand side button 5 times in quick succession.

Hope this helps.

Hi @Boabby72 got to admit, other than the antenna check I don't have much idea with the TV boxes as I don't have one. That admitted, when you initially setup the box does it ask you for your postcode?

My friend @fr8ys has a lot more idea and I'm sure he will pick up the baton for me.

Hi Divsec

Reception on bbc is perfect when plugged directly into tv.

I've also since discovered that when I select settings on the tv box/ TV Channels/Select TV Region... I'm presented with GBR- Central Scotland - Glasgow but no option to select which.

I live in West of Scotland and have discovered that if I select for example my local BBC1 Scotland Channel which is 101 on the guide then no problem. But if I select Channel one shown as BBC1 on the guide the iplayer issue occurs ???

Any thoughts ???
