Netgem Box - is it faulty?

My Netgem box seems to restart itself several times in about 20 minutes.  When recording it must re-start itself because it records 2 minutes, then another 2 minutes then maybe 5 minutes.  It is very rare that the box records a complete program.   When watching live tv it restarts itself at least 8 times in 2 hours.  I've checked the software and it's up to date.     It is a load of rubbish, please give me my old box back and just wifi and not full fibre as it worked a whole lot better then or something that actually works!!!!

Does anyone have the same problems??

Did you try a box reset?

 

Usbs from supermarkets should be fine.

Hi 

I have tried 3 usb sticks, from Asda & Tesco mainly Scandisk and Integral.  When recording it doesn't start at the start of the programme but usually 20 minutes later and only records about 15 minutes.  Now I'm wondering if it's my full fibre.  When watching live TV the box restarts it's self at least 5 -6 times when first switched on and it may do it again after a couple of hours.  It's very annoying because I don't get to watch anything all the way through.

Can I ask where you bought your usb stick from?

 

There are many fakes around if bought offline and these do cause issues with the box.

 

Have you tried resetting the box? You will lose recordings but if there is a bug in the box this should fix it. Press the button on the left hand side 5 times and the box should restart.

 

TalkTalk no longer provide boxes that record, so if you want this facility it's probably best to source your own box, return the 4k one and cancel the TV fee. You will need to phone to do this and speak to the loyalty team.
