We've currently got one of the older type set top boxes, which as of today I've found no longer has access to Netflix. I have read about the TV Hub but can't see anywhere in My Account where I can request to upgrade to this, is there a way of doing so? We are currently mid-contract until 2026 (I think) so it's a while before I can request an upgrade via renewal.
None of our TVs are smart so we are reliant on the TV box to access on demand services (other than via phones/computers etc).
Thanks in advance.

Oh, I want aware I could cancel the TV mid contract! Thanks, I'll look into that as we'd need 2 devices anyway as well have 2 TVs.

Ah, are you already paying the £5 TV subscription fee? In which case yes, but you can cancel that at any time if you wish, again it is not linked to your Broadband contract.

Yeah, I think if I wasn't already in contract until June 2026 including Talktalk TV I would be doing that but as I'm going to be paying the £5 per month anyway it seems to make sense to just go with the Talktalk option for now, unless I'm missing something.
Appreciate all the help and advice.

Personally, in light of what you have said, I'd be looking at Black Friday deals for a one-off device. Make sure you check the specs carefully as there are a variety of models of the same brands, some better and more up to date than others. I have a Roku myself, works like a dream.

I should correct myself, they call it a TV access fee these days, but the effect is the same, £5 a month.

It will cost you £5 a month as you have to subscribe to TalkTalk TV in order to get one.

Thanks, we don't really record any more so that's not an issue.
I had wondered about getting something like a fire stick as it's a one off purchase rather than a repeating subscription, but seeing as I'm tied into the contract for a year or so I guess I may as will get the TV hub assuming it doesn't cost me any extra?

Bear in mind that the latest TalkTalk TV Hub cannot record if that is important to you. And there are alternative devices for getting streaming apps, such as Roku, or Fire Stick. Otherwise, contact customer services to arrange a new Hub, which should have no impact on your current broadband contract.
