TalkTalk Tv won’t record

Hi

I am frustrated to the cusp of tears.

Within the last year I upgraded to the latest TV box as ITV became X and the older box was not compatible. TalkTalk persuaded me to do this! That was the only issue, that box paused, could rewind and was capable of recording 2 things at a time while still allowing me to watch something else.
I bought a 1TB stick (not mentioned was needed as the sale of the upgrade).
I can no longer rewind live TV, quite often when I try to pause live TV it doesn't work and when I delve into this, the box doesn't recognise there is a USB stick inserted at all. A reboot seems to fix this but it's not ideal.

Last week for a 9pm start, I set my TV to record 2 films but was told it could only record one thing at a time. I chose the more favourable film. I saw the lights come on and carried on chatting to my neighbour. My recordings list when I checked yesterday is empty so I tried another film last night. I was watching something on the BBC when the scheduled time to record the film came up and I either had to stop watching what I was watching to watch the film live or cancel the recording. This cannot be right. This upgrade was supposed to be superior and has yet to work for me. Am I missing something?

I ve called, and sat in live chat and have so far waited 3 hours for help..

any ideas lovely people?

Hi

The 4K TV Box (Netgem) can only record 1 program at a time from the channel oi are watching.

If this is failing to record then try resetting the box by pressing the button on the side 5 times to initiate a full reset.

Thanks

Karl.

OK, the 4K box should work with a USB drive, but you may be going OTT with a 1TB stick, the optimum is around 256 to 512GB.

If you would like the support team here to look into this for you make sure that your personal details including TalkTalk phone number and/or account number are complete on your community profile (click here) so that they can link your forum identity with your account and then wait for them to respond. Bear in mind that they won't be back online until Monday.

It better blooming work. When I first got the box and it wouldn’t record, I was successful at getting through to them and it was only then they told me I needed to buy a USB stick which I did. This box has never recorded!

Can you clarify which box you have? The latest TV Hub does not have a recording facility, even via USB. But it does still have rewind and pause.
