Hi there, I haven’t used TalkTalkTV for years, but it keeps appearing back on my account.  I don’t want to pay for it and I don’t want to receive it free of charge.  Please, just remove it from my account for good. Thank you

Hi @auntiechrissie1

I can help with this I first need to confirm some security questions

I have sent you a PM on the community

I have to wonder how much money TalkTalk makes by automatically applying a charge for a service that hasn't been requested (and that some customers might not spot for some time)?  Any company that requires me to opt out of something in order to avoid a charge leaves a bit of a nasty taste in my mouth. 🙁

You assume I'm going to renew my contract?  Bizarre! 😄

Thank you for the suggestion 😊, but I haven't recently renewed my contract - in fact, happily I will soon be out of contract and can look around for another provider.  Your second suggestion is reasonable, apart from the fact that I am not a subscriber to TalkTalk TV, I haven't been for some years, and I don't want to be!  Any charge made to my account for TalkTalk TV has definitely not been agreed with me.

Have you recently renewed your contract and/or perhaps the 66p charge represents a brief period from when you had a free TV offer which has since elapsed in between that time?

@auntiechrissie1, the image you posted displayed your home telephone number, so I have removed it from public display.

I'll move the thread to the billing section so that Arne can check why that 66p appeared.

He won't respond till after the Bank Holiday weekend.

Hi Karl, thank you for your response, but perhaps you could tell me why there is clearly a charge for TalkTalk TV on my latest bill?  It might only be 66p, but it’s still a charge for a service I don’t want!

Thank you.

Hi

All packages will mention TV, it will always be included in the name and that cannot be changed.

You are currently not paying for TV, and when you next renew the contract, just mention that you do not want TV included and no TV charge will be applied.

Thanks

Karl.

@auntiechrissie1, every time that you renew your contract the TV charge will be added, when you go via My Account, offers and upgrades (or discounted).

The only way to avoid this is to phone up to renew or use Chat at that time, and spell out at the point of sale that you don't want this extra.

You might get a better overall rate phoning  / using Chat, so it's a good idea to set aside time to do this for your renewal.

It's set up to include TV via My Account, so there's nothing staff on here can do to reverse the process permanently.

Phoning today will get it removed:
