I am still using the one I got about 3 years ago. I did get sent a new one 18 months ago. When I tried to set up the new one recently I could not get access. I was advised to do a reset but was frightened to do it incase I could not set it up. I was losing download speed but unplugged for 30 minutes fixed it.
I now have 2 Asus laptops different models both under 6 months old.
My attached images will show my problem.

Hi @Pnokio
I can help with any WPS issue, what devices are you trying to connect via WPS? If you can still access the router's GUI, is WPS still enabled on both bands?

It will show a number whenever you are mentioned (like this, @Pnokio) or if someone likes your post. Click on your avatar then the bell image to see the relevant post.
Otherwise the number indicates a new private message. Click on the message envelope to view these.

Why is the number 3 next to my avatar?

I am not really worried about the handle as its on the router I have never used for reasons previously stated.
My new 18 month contract starts on 15 July 2023 but dont know if it includes a newer version. So will wait till then.
The router I am using just now is behaving its self.

The stands are not robust, @Pnokio, and not meant to bear the weight of the router.
Slightly counterintuitive, but it means, don't use the stand as a handle. Hands on the router itself is the way to avoid this happening again.
Probably going to need a complete replacement. Staff will be back on Monday.

Now that you have been clever enough to identify my mistake, I can go ahead using the method you described. Still don't know how to use WPS button.
One more problem, the new router I was sent and still unused, the stand became detached but not damaged. I am unable to refit it.

Honestly, just reset the the router. You won't lose your connection, except briefly while the reset is actually taking place. If you need any advice after that just come back here.

As I have not been told how to access the settings using the WPS button and unable to log in manually at this page http://192.168.1.1/2.0/gui/#/login/ I will continue to wait (18 months so far ) as I dont want to lose internet access.

Bear in mind it is the router password you need, printed in very small characters on the label beneath the tab. With the username admin. Not the WiFi password.

Please try the pinhole reset on the router. That should at least let you login to the interface using the details on the router itself.

Yes, it is a laptop I am using. If I do not get access to the settings page, I wont be able to change the default settings.

New plan:-
-
http://192.168.1.1/2.0/gui/#/login/
is not secure
-
https://192.168.1.1/2.0/gui/#/login/
is even less secure. not attempted.
-
I entered the Router Name + Password
from the back of my router
into the 1st page above = Wrong Details
-
I did the same with the router I am using
It's SSID is TURBO plus my own Password
-
Once again = Wrong Details.
-
If I try using the WPS button on the router I am using now,
will it change the current log in details or change to the originals as on the rear of the router?

You shouldn't need to access the router settings pages. Is it just a laptop that you are trying to connect?

Hello Chris-TalkTalk.
Imagine I have made all the connections for my TalkTalk router correctly. I am now ready to set things up. Do I press WPS first or go to a certain web page.
I can get to the page in my image but the info it needs to give access. I have tried my personal SSID + Password, the one on the back of my currently in use router, and the new one I have which you sent 18 months ago.
If I try using WPS and do something wrong and unable to regain access, I might have to change to another ISP.

To connect your PC by wifi to you router you generally would just click on the network icon on the right of your windows task bar (bottom right of your screen) - click on your router in the list and then enter the wifi password when prompted

Contact someone who can understand a simple question. How do I set up my equipment using WPS. All you have done is tell me how to connect to my phone socket but not what to do with my PC.
on 07-07-2023 10:20 AM
Could I ask what exactly are you trying to do?

This is what your link takes me to. It does not say what to do with my PC in this case a laptop. I.E. what page should I be on or does it connect all by itself?

Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS) lets you easily connect network equipment like wireless printers to your router. Instead of manually typing in your Wi-Fi password, you can simply press the WPS button on your Wi-Fi Hub to connect your device. Here’s how to do it:

It seems I am not the only one who does not know how to use WPS to set it up. None of the Router Names & passwords are being accepted.
Seems I am in a feedback loop.
