Cannot connect to router wirelessly

I have a talk talk Huawei router and Powerlink (?) extender.

I can pick up signal on a tablet from the extender but the two PCs that are next to the router will not connect wirelessly even though I have had no problems since it was installed (10 years ago?). I have connected one PC to the router using an ethernet cable and that is working ok. The signal strength is good 36 mBs .

I've done all the turning on and off and resetting the router and that makes no difference

Help would be appreciated

The replacement router is on its way, please allow 24-48hrs for this to arrive.

Let us know how the connection compares with this router.

Thanks

Hi gowerboy1

I'm sorry to hear this.

Please can you add your name and TalkTalk landline number to your Community Profile, I can then send you a replacement router for testing.

Thanks

Debbie

Perhaps the router needs swapping out in case it has a hardware fault on it. I'll ask TalkTalk to consider this for you.

The router is a talk talk Huawei HG633.

I left the machines for about three hours and thought that before I replied that I would check if the machine (a laptop) that had the ethernet cable would work without it - it has!!!!

I then checked the PC and this is now working wirelessly

Maybe the router was having a rest before it watched the football

I have no idea what had happened

Please can you elaborate by answering these few questions:-

1. What make/model of router do you have (if this is a TalkTalk router, these details will be on a label on the rear or underside of it)?
2. What are the WiFi specifications of the WiFi network adapters in these two PCs?

3. Do you get any error messages when you fail to connect, if so please include a screenshot of them?
