My DOWNLOAD speed has degraded significantly since nov 1st.
I Checked my statistics on speed test my average for the year previous
was over 23 megabits and is now at 20 megabits.


My wi-fi connections are fine .

 

I have had no system alterations.


I have a bt 5c socket and it is plugged directly into the master socket.

I can attach my Speed Test spreadsheet showing the averages and image showing the current connection of 20 megabits.
I suspect I am on a limiter , my last resort is a manual reboot which I refrain from doing.
However nearly daily since the beginning of the month the router resets often.

Today I changed the DNS , and that did not resolve the speed.

Can you please have Tall Talk Tech check out my router or the telephone exchange please.
My checks reveal the average for my post code is 25 megabits.
When I last renewed my Faster Fibre contract I was advised I would have an average 35megabits depending on the time of day.
(you can check the conversation if you like, it was recorded)

My contract is coming up again soon and I am basing my decision on the outcome.

Please help,

Hi Jim,

 

Thanks for letting me know that you're received the router. As ferguson has said DLM should adjust your profile over the next few days in the connection is better with your new router

DLM on a Faster Fibre service is wholly automated by Openreach, give it a few days and check if the sync speed improves.

Thanks Chris, I thought it was my computer, but last night when it was not even on the errors occurred , Crossed fingers , I hope the different router does the trick

I've ordered the router, it should be with you within a couple of days but please allow up to 5 working days for delivery

Michelle it really has got worse I have attached error logs shows resets numerous time in the early hours and speed now down to 14 mb.

Need to try different router.

Hi jimmyribs,

 

Yes when you reset the router, the router username and password will be the originals

Hi,

 

Ok try the factory reset and if DLM doesn't make any changes in the next 24hrs then please let us know and we can send the replacement router.

What do you think is best, If i reset it will I have to wait several days again for DLM to work, or will it change speed even lower?

Hi,

 

You could try this, however if there is still no improvement in speed then please let us know and we can send a replacement router for testing purposes to rule this out.

I've re-checked the connection stats now and I can see that the sync speed hasn't increased any further. Do you have an alternative router that you could test with please?

Hello,

 

I'm sorry to hear this and I will take a look now. I've run a test on the line which hasn't detected a fault, however I can see that sync speed has dropped. Is there any noise on the voice service? I can see from your post that you've mentioned that you have a 5C main socket. Would it be possible to connect the microfilter, router and phone at the test socket so we can see how the connection stats compare please?
