Keeping a Device on the 2.4GHz Band..?

Hi all, The logger on my Solar PV plant will only work if it's on the 2.4GHz band, but it seems to randomly jump onto the 5GHz band, and then I can't get any readings from the plant (battery level, current production, etc.). So how do I get it to stay on the 2.4GHz band? Router is the TalkTalk supplied one, but I can't see any model number on it... can I turn off the 5GHz band? Only my Phone, tablets and the logger use wi-fi, everything else is hard-wired. Would that be wise..? TIA

You can login to the router and rename the single SSID to two separate ones e.g. append 2.4 to that band. Then clear the device connection and when it tries to connect again you should choose that one.
