Repeated DNS Failures

A couple of weeks ago had full fibre installed. After a bit of a rocky start most things are nice and fast however every so often certain sites just stop working; the worst by far is one i use for work. Works for a few minutes then drops. Had firmware updated etc but no luck. Checked the log today and went back to when I was working.

Hundreds of these messages about DNS name resolution failures. This worked relatively well prior to the "upgrade" and there are A LOT of other people using these work servers successfully so they are not the problem.

Wondering if there's some DNS change that can be made or if there's a bigger issue here somewhere? Note that I'm getting these DNS name resolution failures on other sites too but this is by far the most common.

Updated the primary DNS to 8.8.8.8 and restarted but under the maintenance tab the primary DNS is still 79.79.79.79.

Hello,

Would it be possible to re-check that the landline number is correct please? If it is then could you also add your Account Number to your Community Profile too please.

Thanks

Michelle

Hi - I've done that now. Use alternative number if you want to call.

Hello,

Can you please update your community profile to include your:

  • Name
  • Telephone number
  • Alternative contact number

We'll then look into this further. Please do not post this information on this thread. Once you've updated your profile please post in your topic to confirm it's updated.

Thanks

Michelle

OK, have you tried changing your DNS settings to other than TalkTalk?

Yeah - crippling my ability to work. The various "tsys" sites referenced are specifically work related.

Is this affecting your service in any way? Otherwise, don't worry about it, my router log is full of this too, just the firewall doing it's job I think.
