Sagemcom Fast 5364 - can no longer access Advanced Settings in Hub

I have noticed I can no longer access the router ADVANCED SETTINGS option when I log into the hub from my iPad (or iPhone) - despite being able to log into the dashboard. I was previously able to do this and I used to find it very convenient to have the ability to restart my router using one of my iOS devices without the need to go to the desktop computer. When I log in as Admin I get to see the dashboard but as soon as I click on the Advanced Settings option I get returned to login page (and so the perpetual cycle begins...).

I can, however, access these settings using my desktop computer - this happens to be connected via ethernet cable to the router.

Is this a new bug or is this a feature of the current software version?

My software version appears to be SG4K100174

I'm on the same firmware as you and I've noticed there is connection issued and packets is too high! with latency is too high too which means pings is too high too. Also kicked the other wifi devices off for no reasons. I thinks it is this software firmware itself. It is a new bug as my is same firmware and it showed my advanced setting. But communication is very poor

Morning,

We've had our weekly chat with our Devices Manager and it's looking like the next version of firmware for the Wifi Hub will be around the end of January or February.

Thanks

No update on the next version of firmware at the moment. I'll ask our Devices Manager on Thursday when we have our next catch up meeting.

Any news on firmware update? Situation still the same as when first reported.

@5CharactersNoSpaces, the remedy is to wait for the next firmware version, which could be many months away.

I've found the following helps but intermittent success:

When you get into advanced settings and try clicking the gear icon for TalkTalk Wifi hub and get kicked out, instead of clicking the icon open a new browser tab and paste and go with this amended link http://192.168.1.1/0.1/gui/#/mybox

You'll notice the actual link is http://192.168.1.1/2.0/gui/#/mybox , but I was tinkering with older settings that worked and discovered the 2.0 directory as a change from previous bookmarks. It worked a while then ultimately booted me back to login but might be enough to get you in and do what you have to before it crashes out....

Hi, I've searched through this and cannot see any remedy has been found yet.... I've just come across the problem myself and it's darn frustrating, get booted out of advanced settings soon as try to access. iPadOS and macOS. Have I missed it or is there still no remedy?

Hi @ferguson

Not having any Apple products I can't say. TalkTalk do seem to have replicated the problem though, as they say that it will be fixed in the next firmware release.

Hi @KeithFrench

I am not seeng any issues on macOS using Chrome. And as I mentioned earlier neither do I when using Safari on iPadOS. Most odd that this seems to be affecting some users, but not others. I don't use TalkTalk DNS servers, could that be a pointer?

Hi @philipmarkevans

There are bugs in V174 accessing the advanced menu from iPhones & iPads, so this probably also applies to MACoS as well.

There is I  think a bug affecting UPnP, I cannot get it to work any more, but then again, UPnP is so highly insecure, that I always disable it anyway.

Hi Keith,

Thanks for the prompt. I tried to get to the Port Forwarding screen and despite being under Advanced Settings, it now works from my Mac OS machine (access from initial Dashboard via 'See WiFi Settings' -> Advanced Settings -> Access Control).  Weird as it wasn't working earlier!

I can see that the firmware update removed the previous UPnP port forwarding rules, but after adding a manual TCP rule for port 32400, Plex remote access is working again.

So hopefully all good except for the (seemingly sporadic) issues accessing Advanced Settings.

Regards

Phil

Hi @philipmarkevans

When you create your new thread for the plex issue, please include a screenshot of the port forwarding that I presume you are using & if you @mention me into the thread I will test it for you.

I am also seeing this issue - I get thrown out when clicking on Advanced Settings to the login page on iOS and Mac OS (Ventura 13.4.1).  It's particularly annoying as something has also changed with routing/ firewall rules after the SG4K100174 update, so my Plex server is no longer working for remote clients.  I can state this with confidence as I replaced the router with a previous Sagem box which was configured identically except running the previous firmware version and it worked with Plex remote clients last night, but has since also been upgraded to SG4K100174 automatically last night and is now not working.

Support team - please let me know if you want me to start my own topic or wait for an update on this one.

Thanks

Phil
