Hello all,
Recently, our router had been dropping out every 20-30 minutes for a few days forcing a reconnection. TalkTalk arranged for an OpenReach engineer to come round who did something to the local exchange and also the wiring setup in our building.
Following that trip, our tested speeds from the router to devices are <5mps. We are also getting considerably less than the "guaranteed" 59mps speed to our router and have done for quite some time now with no intervention from TalkTalk.
Does anyone have any ideas? The slow speed occurs on all devices, not just one. On 5ghz band it is around 4-5mps and on 2.5ghz band it is barely 1mps.
Thanks.

Hi Chris,
Thanks for your further response. I was at work yesterday afternoon/evening. In the meantime, the issue appears to have resolved itself!
Thanks.

Hi Kirsty,
Thanks for trying that. It's the line test that's showing a sync speed of 77Mbps. Could you try dialing 17070 from your TalkTalk landline and confirm that the number read back to you is your number
Thanks
Chris

Hi Chris,
Resetting the router did not have any impact.
As for the connection speed to the router, I have seen the website says that the speed is 77mps. However, when I do a connection test in the service centre area of this website, it warns me that it is lower than it should be at 39mps and has been that way for some time on the history graph that it shows you. So, I do not think the 77mps shown in the account area is correct.

Hi Kirsty,
Line test is passing and your router is in sync at 77Mbps. Could you switch your router off and leave it off for at least 30 minutes then switch back on and retest, please let us know how you get on
