I have been sent a WiFi booster but it will not connect to my router. In another thread it said that I need a newer version of firmware on my router. When the person at TalkTalk suggested the booster, they said they had already updated my routers firmware. What do I do now?

Hi @Marshman91

Thanks for your reply.

I will check in again with you on Monday to see how the connection has been over the weekend.

I have only managed to get my daughter to set up the new router and booster today. It seems to be working ok at the moment but it hasn't had much of a trial yet.

Hi @Marshman91 unfortunately the team are all safely at home for the weekend so you won't get a answer till then.

Karl did say swap so I would expect no charge for the new router. This is my opinion, not binding.

I don't work here and all my opinions are my own.

Why didn't the technician tell me this the other day via the chat when I was having problems with my WiFi dropping out occasionally? Why did they send me a booster that won't connect to my router?

How much will the new router cost?

Hi

Your router is on the correct firmware, would you like to swap out the router for the Sagemcom model, as the Huawei model will no longer be supported.

Thanks

Karl.

I have now powered down the router for over 30 minutes and replugged it in but there is no change. Version number is still the same and booster won't link (also booster doesn't go to red flashing light as first instruction on the leaflet says it should).

Hi @Marshman91

Please can you try powering down your router for a full 30 minutes and then try and connect again?
