You say "I explained I had them and knew how. but she (the technical assistant) informed me it was the only way to end the conversation with a resolution, so I gave up and said send it"
Ha Ha Ha
Is that a resolution?
Thanks for informing me

Latest update is I have managed to send an email between the two accounts (and a reply), but still seem to be missing a number of other emails!

I have a tiscali.co.uk email (on POP3) and a screaming.net email (on IMAP). Both of them are only receiving occasional emails, yet both accounts connect correctly when tested in my email client.
Hope this helps find a resolution.

You didn't say whether you decided on IMAP or not
And whether you were using iPhone or the other one.
But yes, if you have decided on IMAP or POP3,
and have checked one or the other,
and everything agrees, depending on whether it's an Android phone or an iPhone phone, then it's over to the TalkTalk people.

Hi Bill thank you, I have carried out all the instructions suggested, I've tried both imap and pop3, I've had this email address on my phone for 18 years I think, I have checked rechecked and checked again it just says my email address cannot access imap or pop3.

Hi, @Grandpa1
You say, 'IMAP/POP3'
Your mobile phone can be set to either IMAP or POP3
You should decide which of the 2 you want.
Usually IMAP is recommended,
The next question is which type of mobile phone your are using, because there are different settings for each type.
For an Android mobile phone, please see and check the settings of the phone at:
