Ask us about your TalkTalk email account and Webmail.

Hi! I have seen similar posts regarding this but I have the same problem.
I received an email on Thursday but wasn’t sure if was ‘real’. However, I had previous emails in September and as far as I can remember, I amended my settings.
I am able to send but since Friday, 17th cannot receive any emails via my iPhone but can log into webmail. Please can you help?
Many thanks

Good Afternoon
Thank you for your reply.
I have followed the settings you recommended and have just updated (and received blue ticks 😊, which I haven’t previously!).
Hopefully, this will allow Ady to restore my access 🤞
Many thanks

Hi ElleL
Ady will need to restore access for your iPhone before it will authenticate the password.
The incoming and outgoing settings will need to be for the email account you've set up on the iphone that works as a POP email account. Therefore the settings are as follows:
Account Type | POP3 |
Incoming mail server host name | mail.talktalk.net |
Username | Full email address |
Password | Email password |
INCOMING SETTINGS | |
Incoming Connection Security | Use SSL ON (green) |
Authentication | Password |
Delete from server | Never |
Incoming Server Port (POP3) | 995 |
OUTGOING SETTINGS | |
SMTP Primary server | SERVER ON (green) |
Outgoing mail server host name | smtp.talktalk.net |
Username | Full email address |
Password | Email password |
Outgoing Connection Security | Use SSL ON (green) |
Authentication | Password |
Outgoing Server Port | 587 |
Tip: Username (Full email address) and Password are not optional and must be entered for both the incoming mail server and outgoing mail server.

Good Evening!
Is there any update/solution regarding my last post?
Many thanks

Hi Ady
Thank you for your post.
I have attempted several times to change the settings but receive error messages whenever I try (please see attached).
Even though my incoming Mail server is IMAP, in the settings section it is under POP Account Information - could this be affecting me amending them?
It doesn’t seem to accept any of the changes when I try to verify??

Hi ElleL, to get you restored to full service we need you to change those settings. Follow the links that Gondola has provided to find the correct settings. When you've changed them and we'll get normal serviced restored.

Thank you for your reply.
I’m pretty sure I changed the settings in September but after receiving the last email on Thursday, I may have changed back?!? As I wasn’t sure if it was correct because my email was fine & nobody else in the house had received these emails.
The incoming server port is 110.
I have an iPhone 6s with iOS 15.7.3 and do not have any other devices collecting mail.

Hi ElleL
Good to know that webmail is working.
If you got the message from TalkTalk advising "Our records show that you are still accessing your email using unencrypted email settings, because of this, from 17th February you will no longer be able to receive or send emails via this email app or software" then that means sometime in the previous two weeks TalkTalk had detected an insecure connection to the mailbox.
Did you change the Apple Mail settings in September or are they still set to insecure? If you follow the guide below does it say your incoming server port is 110 or 143? If so, that's a definite reason for the last resort disconnection of the device. Or are you using an Apple device that cannot support secure mail to the required TLS 1.2 protocol? What's the iPhone and iOS operating system version?
Or is there another mail collection service, desktop, laptop, notebook, tablet, phone etc that's collecting your emails using insecure settings?
