A lot of people (like myself) come across these forums to post what's going wrong. Thought I'd just address my initial post and comment on how well my connection is (please don't let me regret this).

Yes I had a real bad time on the phone and via online chat but the suggestions here are great. TT did sort BT OR to come out, they did fix a line (and move the connection whilst at it), a new router was sent out and all is now good!

Great resource this and I look forward to reading up on some other tips.
