Hello,
I just recently had the fibreoptic upgrade to the property. The engineers said that anything up to the new terminal point is working (all indicator lights are lit green).
The connection to the Talk Talk Hub (DG8041W, firmware version: v1.05t) is still currently connected via VDSL mode (broadband over phoneline). When I disconnect the phone line as advised by the upgrade engineer to trst fibre connection, the hub fails to establish the internet connection via the fibre terminal.
As it was a free upgrade, and I am not signed up to fullfibre broadband, was this upgrade just to get ready for the switchover from analogue phone lines in 2025?
or
Do I need to change any settings manually? The router WAN connection is set to Auto (VDSl or WAN), and the WAN connection setting is Route mode.
Thank you in advance for any advice.

Thanks Debbie,
The speed is fine, the connection is working better than predicted/expected 🙂

Hi Chouxie
Your wireless speed tests should be faster, please can you power down the TT router for a full 30 minutes and then run another wireless speed test?

Hi Debbie,
It has been very stable over the weekend, done a connection test at the router speedtest showing a connection speed of 76Mbps. Didn't realise the 1000Mbps was the capability of the actual LAN port.
Thank you and your team very much for all your help.

Hi Debbie-TalkTalk
Thank you, apologies for the lateness, whatever sorcery was done has allowed the router to establish a internet connection with the fibre terminal. Wow, 1000Mpbs according to the router dashboard.
Thank you
