Old router with degrading performance

Hi all.

We upgraded to fibre 65 in March.

We had some issues and a open reach engineer sorted it out (replaced the entire streets phone lines !).

He did say our router was old - from our previous contract - and he would request a new one, as part of his report to talk talk.

We never received one, so continued to use what we had.

My husband who works from home, has been suffering connection issues impacting his ability to work.

Speed to our router is 70 mpbs plus, but router to device is low 40 mpbs.

Our router is very old. I think it may be the problem.

How do I get a new router?

Hi @Yvonne75

I'm sorry to hear this.

I've ordered you a replacement router, please allow 24-48hrs for this to arrive.

Let us know how the connection/speed compares with this router.

Thanks

Debbie

The speed to devices being low may not be down to your router, it could very easily be down to WiFi interference with which I can help a lot. However, as the router is old, it will require changing out, before I can offer my help. I have asked one of TalkTalk's support to pick your thread up and replace the router for you.

They aim to respond within 48 hours (Monday - Friday) excluding Bank Holidays, but if more urgent you can always try the Service Centre on 0345 172 0088. The posts are responded to in time/date order, oldest first.
