Router no longer supported by manufacturer
Saturday
Message 5 of 5
I have had a email from talktalk to say my router is no longer being supported by the manufacturer with the software and security updates.
I have now been getting scam emails I have tried to send to talktalk by saving the emails and then sending to phishing at talktalk but they just bounce back.
Also I work from home. My router is one on the list Huawei HG 633
i would like the router to be replaced by a new one please.

Hi @flobabs
I've ordered you a replacement router, please allow 24-48hrs for this to arrive.
Let us know how the connection compares with the new router.
Thanks
Debbie

Hi @flobabs
This is actually a genuine email from TalkTalk, the HG633 is no longer supported. I have asked one of TalkTalk's support to pick your thread up and replace it for you.
They aim to respond within 48 hours (Monday - Friday), excluding Bank Holidays, but if more urgent, you can always try the Service Centre on 0345 172 0088. The posts are responded to in time/date order, oldest first.

The router has nothing to do with your receiving scam emails. The two are unrelated.
TalkTalk have requested that spam mail be reported to them.
How to do this can be found here. Is this how you have been sending it to them?
https://community.talktalk.co.uk/t5/Articles/Phishing-emails-amp-everything-you-need-to-know/ta-p/30....
Staff are not back until Monday and you are in their queue for a response.
For a quicker reply can you please ensure you have your personal information up to date in your profile including your TalkTalk landline phone number so your account can be traced. Link here - https://community.talktalk.co.uk/t5/user/myprofilepage/tab/personal-profile:personal-info
If you are unsure of your phone number, you can find this in My Account or dial 17070 from your landline phone and this will confirm the number for you.
You can also add your account number in the private notes field, which only you and the support staff can view.
Please post back when done.
Thank you
