Talktalk Router randomly disabling Band 1 (2.5 Ghz) Wifi

Every so often My TalkTalk router (Sagemcom FAST 5364), disables the Band 1 (2.5 GHz) Wifi band without command from me.

I have a few devices that rely on this, in particular my A3 Printer and Blink Security Camera systems.   Is there any way I can prevent the router from doing this?

It seems a random event!

Hi Mikey

Have you tested with both the Sagemcom and Huawei WIFI hubs?

Thanks

Ok, Its happened again.  We had a power cut the other day, and it seems every time the router re-boots or powers on, then when it starts up the 2.4G wifi defaults to off.   Is there anyway, it can be set to default to on?

Ive put the original router back on as the performance of the replacement made it unusable.   The initial fault has not re-occured but then not enough time has elapsed.

Hi ascarr,

If you are still experiencing problems could you start your own thread to avoid any confusion 🙂

Thanks

I'll need to double check this evening. Didn't notice it disconnect but I don't think the speeds have improved. I'll confirm later.

Hi MikeyH,

How are you  getting on, have you experienced any further problems since yesterday afternoon?

Hi All,

Well the replacement router is worse.  Whilst I haven't experienced the same fault, mainly due to the short test time, the replacement router won't handle multiple users doing anything remotely heavy. Everything else hung downloading whilst I was uploading a large file to cloud storage.   I need a reliable router.

Hi MikeyH

Thanks for your reply

The router is on its way, please allow 24-48hrs for this to arrive.

Let us know how the connection compares with this router.

Thanks

Hi MikeyH

Yes that's the new FW version for the Sagemcom hub.

Would you like me to send a different router to see how the connection compares?

Thanks

Hi Debbie,

Not sure where that is on this router.  Is this it SG4K100130?

Hi MikeyH

Which firmware version is showing on your router?

Now that's an interesting thought!

Hi Debbie,

I just login and re-enabled it.  It's annoying as this last happened in the early hours this morning, which meant my Security system was disabled for a number of hours!   I am concerned that this may happen whilst away on holiday!

I may be experiencing similar, seemed to coincide with the recent firmware update on the FAST5364

Hi MikeyH

I'm sorry to hear this.

How do you get this back, rebooting the router?

Have you tried factory resetting the router using the pin hole reset for ten seconds?
