new catch up box and News Text

I have just set up my new catch up box. It seems to be working ok. However I do have a problem with accessing news text. When I go into 702 station and press the red button, the tv screen  remains blank.

By the way, if you still have an issue regarding the same topic then you should reply on that thread rather than start a new thread as duplicate threads causes confusions and can delay responses not on to you but other customers.

It's down to the BBC to provide services.

They have made a decision to remove red button services to those devices connected to the internet.

 

It's only available on older style TVs and even these may now have lost the facility, but as I don't have a TV of this type I can't confirm.

 

This is, as said a BBC decision and not a TalkTalk one.

I was dissapointed about a reply which I got to a query posted yesterday. In fact it was a poor response. The query I had was  how I get access to news text after I had set up my new catch up box. The text service was no longer  available to me on channel 702 (radio)  using the red button.

The reply I got confirmed that the text service was no longer to me on 702 channel using the red button. The reply went on to say "If a broadcaster does make red button available

in an app or channel a message will usually appear on the screen."

This reply does not help me at all. Surely this is basic  stuff. What I need to know is which app/channel/etc provides the text service and how do I access it.

Hi

 

red button functionality on channel 702 (Radio 2) is not available.

 

If a broadcaster does make red button functionality available in an app or channel a message will usually appear on screen.
