Eero Mesh Coverage

Hi All

I have FF900 Mbbps package with Eero router and additional Eero node. When near the Eero we get v good wifi speed but the range is bad. I have them placed as per the instructions - not near electrical devices, flat at waist height on furniture.

In my office I am getting less than 5Mbps. If I move the Eero to get better coverage in office, I get no coverage in bedrooms. We are lucky enough to have a large house with solid brick walls - as I have the total home wifi service should Talk Talk provide more Eero device to enhance coverage?

Thanks

Cheers Keith

Not wanting help as have confirmed sorted.

The harrowing part was the talktalk customer service rep telling me they have known issues with Eero and there's nothing they can do - that should set of alarm bells for anyone reading these threads.

WiFi reception issues may be similar to someone else, but their causes are often totally different. If you want help, you cannot use someone else's thread.

To get help, you must start your own thread. To create your own thread, go to the main page for the board in question & click the "Start a topic" button.

TalkTalk insists on one thread per problem per customer. Please note, TalkTalk makes the rules, not me.

Thanks.

Sorry to butt in but the original poster sounds like me.

900mbps in the lounge and 8mbps in the bedroom (or even not able to connect by WiFi at all). The bedroom to the Eero is about 15ft line of site. I don't have a huge house and had no issues on the old Fibre65.

Rang TT Sunday and was on the phone for over 2 hours going back and forth.

To summise....

Bad coverage - tough luck, go to Amazon and buy your own Eero to help.

We know Eero are poor at coverage and have escalated that, but we aren't going to do anything to the customers currently struggling.

Absolutely stunned at this level of customer service.

I've rectified the issue by moving (at lesser expense by using ethernet cable) the Eero right into the centre of the house but genuinely feel for an UPGRADE I've definitely been sold a DOWNGRADE in terms of hardware.

Did use my old router for a spell and got consistent speeds all over the house but 900 in the lounge dropped to 500ish all over the house so felt paying for the 900 and accepting 500 wasn't ideal.

Glad I had the nouse and will power to use Ethernet trunked on the walls - others would not be as fortunate.

Hello,

Ok thanks for trying this and confirming. When you spoke to the Future Fibre Team did they advise on how many eeros you should have? It may be worth live chatting the team directly to see if they are able to offer an additional eero due to this coverage. The Chat Team are at the very bottom of the page.

Hi Michelle - thanks for the reply.

Yes as per the original post I have moved them and I get coverage in my office but then no coverage in bedroom. There just are not enough of them to cover the whole house.

Morning,

How far away are the 2 eeros from each other? Have you tried placing the node in a different location to see how the connection compares?

Thanks

Hi Michelle - thanks for your reply. Yes I contacted them but they said I had to purchase another Eero - that doesn't seem right if we have the total home coverage package. Please can you clarify?

Have you been in contact with the Future Fibre Team directly?

Thanks

The problem with the Eeros is that they are designed to be operated in a mesh network with more Eeros of the same model. One is rarely enough. You can try calling customer loyalty & see if you can negotiate with them on 0345 1725157.
