Eero and Hub2 - Connection query

My previous system set-up

One Superhub with ethernet cables linked to TV, Power line adapter for TalkTalk TV box upstairs, for additional TV, and Powerline adapter for ethernet connection for PC in the dining room; this set-up was okay, but intermittent and slow speeds.

So it was suggested I switch to full-fibre 150, so when the engineer came to install it, he advised me that I would not be able to run the powerline adapters through the new Eero hub, so I cancelled the order.

A few days later, I received a call from a Talk Talk manager enquiring why I had cancelled. I explained about the powerline adapters and that I need the tv upstairs and the internet in the other room; he then suggested I get a Super Hub 2, which will allow me to continue using the powerline adapters and VoIP. Agreed, and on the 16th of Feb, 2023, I had Full Fibre 150 installed.

I get very poor speeds, sometimes slower than my Fibre 35; Wi-Fi can drop to as low as 10mbs or up to 90mbs, no consistency, PC via powerline produces between 60mbs - 100mbs, TV upstairs buffer on Netflix's

So on Friday, 24th March, well over a month after installation, I joined live chat to try and resolve the speed issues, I spent well over three hours talking to a human who may as well have been a robot, as all he kept saying was "Well you won't get the speeds as you don't have an Eero router.

Sorry for this long-winded account (rant) of my situation, but does anyone have a similar set-up and is getting the required/contractual speeds we are supposed to get, or can I connect up an Eero as well as a Super Hub2

If I can't get the speeds I am supposed to get, I may as well go back to Fibre35 or find a provider that can give me the speeds.

Hi,

Thanks for confirming. What speeds do you see if you connect directly at the ONT with the router removed?

Thanks

Hi Michelle, thank you for the prompt reply. As I stated, the wired connection could range from 60MBS to 100mbs. I am currently doing a course download and getting a download speed of 12.7 MBS (YES 12.7MBS)

Hello,

Can I just confirm, what speeds do you see if you run a speed test when connected wired? I'm just trying to confirm if this is solely related to the wireless connection.

Thanks
