TPLink AX1500 router VLAN ID

I lost Internet on Sunday and only today had an email saying that they are sending me a new router which probably won't get here till Wednesday.

I have a TPLink AX1500 router and reading other post, as I have a city fibre ONT, it seems I need the vlan turned off as I can't set the ID to 0.

Is it possible to do this for me please?

Regards,

Jason

Glad to hear it's working now. The new profile will work with the eero (the old one wouldn't) and yes you should also receive a digital voice adapter

Thank you Chris,

My router is working now.

This won't cause any issues with the eero router which is being sent will it?

Also, as I use the phone over the Internet, I believe I need an adapter to connect the telephone to the new router, will that be sent at the same time?

Hi Jason,

I've changed your profile, can you please retest and let me know if the profile change has made any difference

Can I please confirm that I should be able to connect a computer directly to the City FIbre ONT to check and use Internet?

I'm sure I tried this on Sunday and it didn't work.  I'd totally lost Internet on Sunday.

No, it's a different router.

But I have a fibre router connected now and still can't get Internet.

Yes, I've tried all that, left it with a dynamic IP.  No Internet.

Tried setting VLAN ID to 101 also had a VOIP and IPTV ID which I set to 2 and 3.  No Internet.

I reported problems on Thursday and probably won't get a new talktalk router until Wednesday, so wanted something else which worked for next time.

@Gliwmaeden2

I think they are asking for help in setting up an alternative router in the meantime. Although I see where you are coming from, like you I spotted the earlier thread, but decided to let this query stand alone, rather than pulling them together.

Are you referring to the router that staff confirmed was being sent out, @Jason10jedburgh, in this thread?

It's really better to simply follow up under the same topic once staff have reached the thread.

Have you actually tried connecting it from the WAN port to the LAN port on the ONT?

Or did I read it incorrectly and should it just work as I can connect without setting the vlan settings.
