Hello I’m looking to upgrade from fibre35 to full fibre150. I need to have 4 Ethernet ports to hard wire items which I have with my present router, also a phone point which I understand is available on what is called TalkTalk Wi-Fi-hub. I was told one would be supplied with the upgrade but on running thought the terms was informed that I was being sent a euro 6 router which is Wi-Fi and I think only one Ethernet port. Why is it that a Wi-Fi –hub router cannot be supplied I have been with TalkTalk since 2008 at this address and on the verge of leaving which I don’t want to do but feel I have no option. This was speaking to someone at the retention department. Thanks in advance. Regards Malcolm

Hi Malcolm
I get where you're coming from, if it ain't broke etc. If the current service suits your needs, then makes sense to hold onto it for a bit longer.
Karl.

Hi malcolm,
I understand and we have fed this back previously. Is FTTP 65 VOIP an option for you as this would come with a Wifi Hub 2 router?

Yes Bill it would, I'm not a fan of multi bits hanging around either but talktak say no Wi-Fi hub with 150. i can have full Fibre 65 that does come with the Wi-Fi hub its the same price as 150. Plusnet can do Full Fibre 150 and a router with ethernet ports , so its better the devil you know or move to plusnet got friends using plusnet so I know its ok or lastly stay on fibre35 which is copper wire for 2 years. regards Malcolm

If you are happy with that, no problem at all. All I was suggesting, is that it would be much simpler if TalkTalk were able to offer you a TalkTalk Wi-Fi-hub with your Full Fibre 150. It's just that I don't like too many gadgets around.

Not sure what you meen, I'm told the Grandstream fits in a little port seperate to the two ethernet ports. One ethernet port to talktalks internal box the second one to a switch which would allow me to use the other ethernet ports that i require. This is what I'm being told as no wifi-hub is supplied only Eero. Regards Malcolm

That's a quick expansion of the number of devices, from 1 to 3, @Michelle-TalkTalk
An Eero, a Grandstream and then a switch.

The WiFi Hub 2, a lot of people think, has superior WiFi coverage compared to a single Eero anyway.

Hi malcolm,
Thanks for your post. We only provide the wifi hub on the lower speed package. FTTP 150 or higher come with an eero which has Wifi 6 technology. If we sent a wifi hub then your My Connection test wouldn't recognise which router you have connected as it's based on which package you signed up with. If you took a package with VOIP (digital voice service) then you would also receive a Grandstream digital voice adapter.
If additional ports are required for your set up then we'd recommend looking into a network switch. You would connect the switch to the eero and then anything else you need to connect wired would connect to the switch. Depending on the size of your switch, this could you give you anything between 4 and 100+ extra ports.
Thanks
Michelle
