We've had this for several years.

We don't think it's the handsets, but rather the line, because

  1. We changed the cordless handsets and still the same problem.
  2. Caller is near to base station so we think it's unlikely that it's the handset.

We got someone out to take a look a couple of years ago and they could not find a root cause or could not reproduce the problem at the time.

We're reluctant to have someone else come out and do the same tests, only to arrive at the same outcome. You might know the saying:  "Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results." - so tell us why you think having someone come out again will make any difference. Not a rhetorical question, we'd like to know if you've improved your testing and diagnostics since 2 years ago. We don't want to waste time, instigating tests via online, having to book someone and be in when they come, only to not find the cause again. Tests need to go deeper.

Hi

Tests are clear and not detecting an issue at this moment.

If you have tested an alternative handset at the master socket or 'Test Socket' to rule out any extensions or a faulty faceplate, then the only option is to progress towards an Openreach engineer visit for you.

Thanks

Karl.
