Landline phone crackles while talking to someone

During the past week, I’ve noticed when I’m calling people. My phone makes a crackle noise that makes it impossible to hear anything they are saying.

Its on my end and they can hear it too.

I have checked the wires and everything is connected.

Has anyone else encountered this issue of late.

Yes, I’m happy for a visit to be arranged. I’m available on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday Saturday and Sunday Afternoons.

And I am also happy to accept any charges the visit may incur.

Hi @Regan2

Thanks for confirming. As the line tests are still detecting the same fault with everything removed then I think we should arrange an Openreach engineer visit.

Would you like me to arrange this visit? Please can you provide your availability AM and PM?

Can you also confirm potential Engineer charges

Morning,

Ok, would it be possible to remove the router, phone and microfilter from the line for 30 minutes so we can re-run the line test with no equipment connected to the line?

Thanks

Michelle

Hi @Regan2

Thanks for your reply.

The same fault has been detected. Is the router still at the test socket at the moment?

Hello,

It wasn’t connected to the test socket but it is now.

I never knew that there was such a thing nor was I aware the front panel was detachable.

Thanks

Hi Regan2

Thanks for updating your profile. Line test is passing but it is picking up a potential loop fault. Is your telephone currently connected to your test socket - Your guide to main phone sockets - TalkTalk Help & Support

Thanks
