Since 22 March, I have been experiencing the 'line cord error' message on my phone.
I have asked TalkTalk twice to run a check on my phone line (the second time was today) and the check has come up with no problems on both occasions. (I have no problems with my broadband connection.)
Since the problem started, I have purchased a new base station and phone cord, but the problem persists even when I plug the phone cord directly into either of the phone jacks I have in my apartment.
I should be grateful for any insight into this matter.

Line tests are showing a battery fault at the exchange.
I've logged this to Openreach for an engineer to investigate.
