No Landline

Morning

Have dial tone, but when calling out just get engaged tone. When dialling in from a landline callers get engaged tone and from a mobile a message " unable to connect, try later."

Did online chat Friday, the agent apparently carried out some line checks, I checked the test socket and they determined that the cause was my home phone. I got a new one and, unsurprisingly, the problem remains!

It may be a coincidence but, Friday morning I called TalkTalk on the landline to check if my option for VOIP had been registered, as I had not received any confirmation. The agent said there was nothing on my account but they had experienced glitches, so she would sort it out for me. She put me on hold for a few minutes (I don't know the reason), the line went completely silent but still connected, and when she returned she sounded like a demented Dalek - I couldn't understand a word, but she could hear me. After a few minutes she agreed to call me on my mobile to finalise things. Shortly after I got a call on my mobile who told me that the landline was engaged. A short while after that I tried ringing him back on the landline and got the engaged tone.

Can you also check that my VOIP option has been registered.

Regards

Adrian

Hi Adrian,

I'm sorry about this but I've been trying to find out how I can check the order but it appears that we can't, you'll need to speak to customer services, they can pass you to the dedicated team who are dealing with the VoIP upgrades, they'll be able to check this for you. Apologies for any inconvenience

Thanks Chris

Regarding the VOIP registration that I did on Friday, is there any way you could chase that up for me?

I will let you know the outcome of the engineers visit.

Thanks

Adrian

Confirm I accept any charges and available as necessary. My mobile number is as registered on my TalkTalk account ending 969.

The only confirmation I got for VOIP was  verbally with the agent I spoke with on Friday 14/02. She read out various bits of information and asked me questions about alarms etc., etc.

Thanks

Adrian

OK, if you'd like us to book the engineer can you confirm:

  • That you accept potential Engineers charges
  • Provide availability, either AM (8am to 1pm) or PM (1pm to 6pm) between Monday to Friday.
  • Confirm your mobile number

(I can't see an order for VoIP, did you get any confirmation when you chose that option?)

Thanks

Chris

Would like engineer visit. Intermittent line and call cuts off after about 2 minutes, so obviously a problem somewhere.

Thanks. I can't see any reason why it wouldn't be working, line test is passing. We can arrange an engineer visit to investigate further, if you'd like us to do this please let me know and I'll confirm some details with you
