My tv goes to iPlayer when I select bbc1/2 then  i’am unable to get subtitles

This can happen if reception is poor.  Connect the aerial direct to the TV and check to see if the picture is breaking up or if you have a strong signal.

It's a known issue. Use 101 and 102 which work normally, and the picture quality is better.
