I've moved home and now using a new broad band supplier.

I have tried to cancel my account with Talk Talk (Account No: XXXXX) but without success and have cancelled the direct debit at my Bank.

I appreciate that there may be a cancellation charge.

@HouseName, how did you try to cancel?

All you needed to do was phone 03451 720088.

They would need 30 days' notice.

That's all that was needed.

Cancellation charges would apply if you were still in your minimum contract term.

Cancelling your Direct Debit does not cancel the service. You won't just get charged for not paying your bills - there are late payment fees etc. The whole thing may end up with debt collectors and damage your credit rating.

You can make individual card payments, however, to catch up on payment of bills.

So make that phone call and keep in touch with Talktalk until you know you have paid your final bill.

Any equipment not returned will be charged for too.

You cannot cancel through the forum.

If you use Chat, you have to pick up a phone call from Talktalk to finalise the cancellation. So just give them a call!

Moving this to the billing section in case there's anything further they can help with.

I have removed your account number from public display.

All personal details should be in the profile area.

From the 29th of March our TalkTalk Community will move to peer-to-peer support and the TalkTalk team will no longer be here to support with queries. Don’t worry we still have plenty of ways to reach out if you need to speak to TalkTalk directly. For more details check out the link in the post at the top of any forum message board.
