Hi
I'm helping three clients of mine. They all equally own the house that they've all lived in for the past fifty years. They have a broadband and phone contract.
The account holder has now moved into a care home and one of his house mates would like to change the ownership of the account into his name and pay the bill. I have two questions about what happens when the change of ownership completes:
1) Will the associated email addresses be lost? I ask because the account holder's house mates' email addresses are Tiscali sub-accounts.
2) Will their landline phone number remain or will it be lost?
Thank you.

No problem, Happy new year.

Hi SecretSquirrel
On a change of ownership the account phone number will remain. the account number and account holder changes.
I presume the main email account is the soon to be old account holder, in which case we cant transfer the address and the linked addresses to the new account that is GDPR breach as you may have access to the main account. The addresses will actually remains active but you will not be able to manage them.

Yes, it will come, but it's in the queue for attention.
I have flagged up the query about keeping the email addresses as being of particular importance, @SecretSquirrel.

Thanks for trying to help and your suggestions Gliwmaeden, but given the gravity of the situation, I really need a written response from a UK-based TalkTalk employee.
Happy new year to you.

Using a nominated user form might be more practical in the short term, @SecretSquirrel:

Hopefully we'll get some advice from staff soon!

The main point about changing account holder is that the phone number remains the same, @SecretSquirrel.
Both the previous account owner and new one need to complete the form:

You'll need to speak to staff about the associated email addresses - definitely worth checking. The problem is that the change of ownership form can allow an account owner to sign the service over to new house owners / tenants / strangers who don't have any connection with the previous account holder, so in that case you wouldn't want the email address remaining associated with the account.
