Old Vodafone contract

When I signed up for taltalk broadband I was told that talktalk would deal with the cancellation of my Vodafone contract which was not done I have now received a letter from a debt collection agency on behalf of Vodafone looking for a payment of £78.89
Is talktalk going to pay this bill

@cookierfc, if you wish to speak to Talktalk over the weekend, check out the opening hours here:

You must have billing proof from Talktalk showing when your new service started, available in My Account and in your contract documents, but you will still need to ask Talktalk why they didn't inform Vodafone.
Let us know how you get on and whether you still need forum support for this.

The advice pages recommend that you always contact Talktalk yourself as well, and particularly in the case of switching to Vodafone, @cookierfc:
If your Vodafone contract is up and running and you have received bills from them, you will be able to prove when the switch happened.
Forum staff are not back on here before Monday.
