Hi guitarman3
I can confirm the new contract is fixed price plus @£28 per month for 18 months, with no April price rise.
Regards

It can't be CPI, @guitarman3. Talktalk is only doing £3 increases, hence the fact that they said "no CPI" is literally correct.
Fixed Price Plus would be more expensive than the normally agreed price, so let's wait and see whether that's what actually accounted for the difference in expected price, or whether there was an error.

thanks. called them back and was assured the error in my account would revert to the agreed £28pm tomorrow. we'll see. also i was told there would be absolutely no increase in april . even though it's fixed i'm sure there is a cpi increase if i'm not mistaken.

just looked at my account and the new contract stated £30 pm for 18 mths and not £28pm as was agreed. gonna call back and sort it out. doesn't say fixed price plus either.

Unless you asked to pay Fixed Price Plus, @guitarman3, you might find the new £3.00 applies from April - it's not CPI related.
Supposed to be "better" than the idea of CPI + 3.7%, but, in fact for many of the lower priced products it works out as more expensive than the old method. Not a great solution from OFCOM!
See Talktalk's notice about April price rises:
Staff will respond later in the week to clarify.
