When you ring to cancel, they'll quote you the precise amount due, @Bezzie, and give you a chance to reconsider.

I'll remove your duplicate thread to avoid confusion.

Billing dates and contract dates rarely coincide,  @Bezzie.

If your contract ends on 1st December, but your bill comes in eg 9th November, you'll have a funny bill. Your contracted amount will only be for c 3 weeks, but Talktalk bills a month ahead, so to the day a couple of days before the next bill turns up in your inbox. The last week's-worth (or so) will be at the full price listed in "pricing", plus any CPI  +3.7% carried over from the April inflation related increase.

You'll then be on a rolling monthly contract at full price until such a time as you choose to leave.

You can renew any time now ahead of 1st December if you want to keep prices down a bit, but will be tied into a new contract.

Whatever you decide to do, if you leave on 1st December, any overspend will be refunded to your My Account on the subsequent bill. You need to then claim it back to your bank account, so leave your Direct Debit details in place until you get a bill saying you owe £0.00.

For details of notice periods / switching see the Ts&Cs (linked at the foot of the page).
