Hi,
I did a search through old posts and couldn't find anyone with a 5464 router - hence this post!
I'm a new customer with TalkTalk Business and have been given this hub:
TalkTalk Business Wi-Fi Hub 2
Hardware Version: FAST5464 2.00
Software Version: SG4K100136
GUI Version: 5.6.1
It's all connected and working, but (as expected) it doesn't handle bufferbloat properly and there are no QOS settings on the router. I'd like to use my own router with CAKE QoS.
I'd like to use the TalkTalk router as a modem because, for some reason, it is connecting with better Downstream and Upstream rates than my own Draytek Vigor 130 modem.
I can't see any setting for modem only or bridge mode on the router - is there a hidden menu option that I can set? I'd rather not have to configure a double NAT if at all possible.
Thanks for your help!

Thank you! I wanted to start a new thread but got the error “postflooding detected” so I thought maybe because there’s a thread on this topic. Will try again.

Hi @samiboi
No TalkTalk router supports modem mode. However, what you can do is to configure the Sagemcom to use a different IP network to your own router & connect from an ethernet socket on the 5364 to the Linksys's WAN Ethernet port.
If you want help, you cannot use someone else's thread.
To get help, you must start your own thread. To create your own thread, go to the main page for the board in question & click the "Start a topic" button.
TalkTalk insists on one thread per problem per customer. Please note, TalkTalk makes the rules, not me.
Thanks.

Hi,
I want to use the hub as a modem so that I can connect a Linksys router to it to be the main WiFi router. I want to do this because the lfast5464 is located in under the stairs cupboard (only available socket) hence really poor WiFi coverage .The property has 2 Ethernet sockets in better locations and I have a switch. So the idea is to
put the fast 5464 in modem mode, and connect the WiFi router to it via erhernet socket and switch. I have searched the forum and it seems that this is possible but I couldn’t find the walk arounds.
The router I want to use is Linksys EA8100.
I’m open to another solution if it doesn’t cost a lot, but I cannot relocate the main socket due to high costs and property being a rental.
thank you in advance.

Have you connected one of the yellow ethernet sockets on the TT router to the WAN socket of your router?

Hi @KeithFrench
Thanks for the offer of help. I've now done the following.
Did I miss any config on the TalkTalk router? Appreciate any additional advice.
Thanks!

No it doesn't support modem mode as @ferguson said. However, it can easily be used as an initial router connected to the broadband and pass on an IP address to your own router. I can give full details on configuring it like this if required.

There isn't a modem only mode. As a TalkTalk Business customer I am afraid that this community cannot offer you support, other than in the most general way.
