Internet speed halved after outage

Hi,
2 days ago, precisely at midnight, connection went down and restored by itself during the night.
Since then my speed has gone down from 76mbit to 37mbit.
I'm very confident the issue is not on my side.

What I tested so far
- reset the router, check the cables
- disconneted all the appliances and tested only with one device via wifi and ethernet
- use multiple internet websites to check the speed
- router dashboard shows Upstream line rate kbit: 20000 - Downstream line rate kbit: 79650
- tested the speed in different times of the day, same consistent result

Feeling is this is bandwidth throttling or wrong setting on provider's side. Even weirder it happened right after connectivity outage.

Anyone experiencing the same? Can this be reviewed by TalkTalk engineers?

Thanks

D

Hi Karl,

it seems the speed issue is now fixed.

I restarted the router one more time and I can now use the whole bandwidth.

Thank you for your support

Hi

Can you run a wired tract to www.google.co.uk and send this to me.

Karl

Hi,

yes, router has been offline today from 13:20 to 13:50, however speed is still capped.

I've done the same tests as per my main post.

Whatever I test with multiple devices, download speed result is always the same: 37mbit

Thanks

Hi

How are your speeds after the 30 minute powerdown.  I'm showing Sync at 78mb.

Karl.

Hi @ry00000 your post has been escalated and you should hear Monday whilst waiting it is worth powering down the router and waiting 30 minutes before restarting. Only Once!

This Is frequently beneficial.

Good luck
