My router hasn’t arrived.

Hi all, my broadband and land line are switching to TalkTalk on Thursday this week, but I’ve not received a router yet, I spoke to customer service on Friday, who said the router would definitely arrive within plenty of time and delivered by yodel.. But as of now (Monday evening) I’ve had no despatch notification oranysign of it being sent. I work from home so it’s important it arrives by the time my service switches over.

Hi,

 

If it's a FTTC connection and there is already a main socket present at the property then usually you would just connect the router on the day of the install. If Openreach have contacted you to advise that an appointment is required then it would be best to be available just in case they need to complete any additional work to activate the service and to check that it's working ok too.

hi Michelle, no standard fttc copper wire to the house. my area isn't fttp fibre installed yet

Thanks for confirming. Did you sign up for a FTTP connection as this would require an engineer visit?

the router has indeed arrived, but I keep getting messages from open reach & talk talk about my appointment tomorrow, apparently an engineer is calling and one message said he would be here at least 3 hours setting everything up? I've ordered fibre 65 same as I have from my current supplier, so isn't it just a case of swapping routers when the new service goes live? I can sort everything else out myself.

The router is now showing dispatched. Looks as though it was dispatched yesterday so you should receive it today or tomorrow
