Return router

I switched my broadband from talkTalk around a month ago and have now recieved an email telling me to return my router in the pre-paid envelope I have been sent. This is the first I have heard about this and apparently, if I don't return it, I could be charged £50, and TalkTalk won't pay for postage if I return it myself!

I don't want it to end up in landfill (as my email says) but I object to having to pay £50 if I don't return it to TalkTalk.

Any advice?

Hi benedicte,

The returns bag was dispatched on the 2nd so it should be with you in the next day or two

Hi Karl,

I have started my own thread but no one commented on it hence why I hijacked another thread 😊

Hi

If you start your own thread (new message), we’d love to help.

We’ve found that posting in someone else’s conversation makes it harder to follow when looking for an answer.

It’s easier and quicker if we can chat with you in a single thread, if you start your own thread, that will keep our community organised and help others with a similar problem.

Check your home phone number or account number are also added to your Community Profile as that will really help us to find your details quicker.

Thanks

Karl

Same here. Contacted Talktalk numerous times to be told each time I will receive the return kit within 3-5 working days. According to my latest conversation, a return bag was processed on the 30th October, another return bag was processed on the 24th October when I first contacted Talktalk, yet still no bag to return the router. The person on the chat couldn't provide me with a tracking number because Yodel hasn't sent one!

Hello Chris

I haven't received a return bag yet. Hoping you can organise one to be sent.

Thanks

Hi madmum833,

A returns bag should be automatically dispatched within the next few days. If you don't receive it within 5 working days please let me know and I'll arrange to send one

Thanks

Chris

Sometimes there's a returns bag in the box the router originally came in, @madmum833.

Talktalk are not therefore sending these out automatically on cancellation. Staff can get one sent to you asap.

When you return it, keep a certificate of posting  and record of the tracking number to trace its arrival at Talktalk's end. They are sometimes tardy with the processing of the return, so hang onto your evidence.
