Router fault

I have just spent the best part of two hours on chat with talktalk as my router is flashing orange. It's been reset over and over, no joy. They are now going to send an engineer next week! But I am convinced it's the router. I've been told that if it is the router they'll then send me a new one. But surely it makes sense to try a new router first. Else I'll be waiting for days after for it to arrive. Anyone else had this issue?

Hi Michelle,

Thanks for your message. BT engineer has been. Said it was definitely a line fault as soon as he arrived. He even brought the cherry picker van along as he knew he'd be going up the pole. Had to do some work at the exchange too. All sorted, back up and running.  Woohoo!! Thanks to all at talktalk.

Hi Karl.

Thanks fir organising the router.  Unfortunately it didn't fix the problem.  Engineer has been today but he can't fix it either. His test said that the router is "incompatible " whatever that means! He tested both and they both came up the same. BT Engineer tomorrow.

Thanks though, do appear your assistance

Thanks Karl.

Hate to be a pest but do you know when it might arrive? Just conscious about having to pay for an engineer if it turns out to be unnecessary. Would need to cancel the booking by 12 noon on Saturday.

Hi

I agree, a router should be tested before sending an engineer.

A router is on the way.

Thanks

Karl.
