I have been without internet for 10 days now - every couple of days, I've jumped on the chat to ask for someone to come have a look. Each time without fail, I was lied to. The first person literally told me that my internet was now fixed and it was ok for me to go back home.
The next 2, said that they were literally speaking to an engineer on my behalf and that it would be resolved by the end of the day.
I have made so clear that I had an important exam to compete and asked: if it's not going to be done by the time the exam comes, can you please not promise anything so I can go and hire out co-working space to pass my exam. They still GUARANTEED that the internet will be back on... today at 5amn I had to drive out to the city to try and find a place to set up for my exam... I don't understand why was I lied to if they obviously could not help nor had the solution? And then once they lie over and over again.. do things ever get fixed or should I just close account and switch right away?

Sorry to hear about this extra worry - not what you want for sitting an exam.
Staff should pick up your post soon. It's in a queue for attention.
Make sure that you have completed your community forum profile details for them to identify your account.
Go via your avatar; settings. Add your Talktalk phone number or account number etc in Personal Information. Scroll down further to find the SAVE CHANGES button.
You will need to be at home if they want you to set up the router at the test socket etc.
What package are you on?
Check whether your master socket has a test socket:

If you use the landline, is it crackling or a good clear line?
